Caring Connections Across Bladen County

Today, students from Mrs. Todd’s and Mrs. Hinson’s Nurse Aide I classes shared a little fall joy with the residents at the local nursing home by delivering handmade cards for the Fall Festival.

A heartfelt thank you to the Health Science classes at East Bladen and West Bladen High Schools, and to Mrs. Jones’s class, for creating these beautiful cards. The residents were all smiles and shared how much they loved and appreciated each one.

This partnership shows the power of compassion and community—our students learning the importance of care, kindness, and connection.

Our Health Science II class has been learning about infection control. Today, students demonstrated their skills by checking off on donning and doffing PPE.

Proper donning (putting on) and doffing (removing) of Personal Protective Equipment are critical procedures that protect healthcare workers, patients, and others from exposure to infectious agents and hazardous materials. Following correct procedures helps ensure maximum protection and prevents cross-contamination.

The Supervised Agricultural Experience highlight for this week is Jaydan Davis!

Jaydan helps his family around the farm with cattle and gardening. He is currently taking Horticulture I and Animal Science I and plans to apply what he’s learning in class to strengthen and expand his family farm.

Jaydan has future plans to continue farming, and the WBHS Agricultural Department is very proud of the dedication and hard work he’s showing in agriculture-related fields.
