West Bladen High School is teaming up with Bladen Community College for a College Application + FAFSA Completion Workshop on Tuesday, October 20th, from 3–6 PM!
Students and families are welcome to stop by anytime to work on college applications, get help with the FAFSA, or ask questions! You don't have to stay the entire three hours, so come whenever you can!
Parents, we encourage you to come too, especially if you have questions about college applications or financial aid!
If you can't attend but your student is working on the FAFSA, feel free to send them with the information needed for your portion. We can help them prepare, but parents will still need to review and submit their own portion.

West Bladen High School, en colaboración con Bladen Community College, ofrecerá un taller para completar solicitudes universitarias y la FAFSA el martes 20 de octubre, de 3:00 a 6:00 p. m.
Los estudiantes y sus familias pueden asistir en cualquier momento durante el evento para trabajar en sus solicitudes universitarias, recibir ayuda con la FAFSA o hacer preguntas. ¡No es necesario quedarse las tres horas! Pueden venir cuando les sea más conveniente.

🎓 NC College Application Week is almost here! 💜
From October 19th at 7:30 AM through October 25th at 5 PM, students can apply to participating NC colleges and universities FOR FREE! Check out the attached list of participating schools! Remember, all 58 NC community colleges are free to apply to year-round!
Students will need a CFNC account to participate. CFNC is also used to complete NC Residency Determination (RDS), which helps determine eligibility for in-state tuition. If your student isn't sure whether they have an account, encourage them to stop by Guidance!
Ms. Barber will also be in the Media Center during 1st and 4th periods each day next week (except Tuesday) to help students with their applications!

Del 19 de octubre a las 7:30 a. m. al 25 de octubre a las 5:00 p. m., los estudiantes podrán solicitar admisión a las universidades participantes de Carolina del Norte ¡GRATIS! ¡Consulten la lista adjunta de instituciones participantes! Recuerden que los 58 colegios comunitarios de Carolina del Norte permiten solicitar admisión de forma gratuita durante todo el año.

How do you explain a drawing without naming the shape? Our PGC student leaders recently took on the "Do You Hear What I See?" challenge to sharpen their active listening and communication skills!
Working in co-leader teams, one blindfolded student had to draw a simple image based solely on their partner's creative, precise step-by-step directions—no naming shapes or clues allowed! After swapping roles (and even having our advisors join in on the fun!), students reflected on the challenge of clear direction-giving and how to apply these skills when mentoring freshmen.
It was an incredible session filled with plenty of laughs, teamwork, and valuable leadership growth! 🌟✏️

Homecoming Week will be October 12th-16th. The Homecoming Pep Rally, Parade and Game will be on Thursday, October 15th instead of Friday. Game time is at 6:30 and the parade will start at 4 PM. Line up time is at 3:15 at New Light Church. The parade will start at IGA in Bladenboro and end at Bladenboro Middle School. Senior Night will also be on Thursday, October 15th starting at 6 PM and homecoming ceremonies will be during half-time.
Next week is homecoming and Spirit days all next week. Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is Holiday Day, Wednesday is Ballers vs. Scholars, Thursday is Pink Out day and Friday is Knight Pride. More details are posted on our Facebook Page.
