The Ag Mechanics 2 Honors class did an outstanding job creating a beautiful picnic table for the Knights of Excellence classroom. This thoughtful addition will provide our students with a wonderful space to learn, gather, and enjoy time together. Mrs. Jones’ class will benefit from it daily, and we are incredibly grateful for the craftsmanship, dedication, and generosity that went into this project.

We are proud to announce, Mrs. Nikki Bryant, as this year’s Teacher of the Year at West Bladen High School. A remarkable educator whose impact has been felt from the very start. In her very first year at West Bladen, she has already set a powerful example of what it means to be dedicated, compassionate, and student-centered. Her classroom is a place where students feel supported, encouraged, and inspired to do their best. She consistently goes the extra mile, taking the time to ensure every student has the tools and confidence they need to succeed. Beyond her work with students, she brings an infectious positive attitude to our school community each day. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute in meaningful ways that strengthen our school as a whole. Her commitment, enthusiasm, and genuine care for others have not gone unnoticed. She embodies the spirit of excellence we strive for at West Bladen High School.

Honors Chemistry students stepped up in a big way during their mirror lab this week! They successfully carried out the Tollens’ test, a fairly advanced and tricky lab, using a redox reaction to reduce silver ions (Ag⁺) into solid silver metal that deposited onto the glass as a reflective coating. They worked relatively independently through the process, troubleshooting along the way and making some great connections between the chemistry concepts and what they were seeing. We are so proud of the focus, problem-solving, and growth they showed throughout this lab!

Culinary Excellence in Action! 🍳✨

We are so proud of Ms. Kinlaw’s Foods II students! These talented individuals took their skills out of the classroom and into the community.

They successfully planned, prepared, and served a delicious meal for the Bladen County Board of Education and the Bladen County Commissioners during their first joint meeting held at Bladen Community College.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their professional hospitality and culinary talents to our county leaders. Way to go! 🌟
