Melony Edwards from the WBHS School Nutrition Department goes above and beyond each day to make sure our students are served with a smile and receive nutritious meals that fuel their success. We appreciate her hard work, dedication, and positive spirit that brighten the cafeteria and school community every single day!
Mrs. Smith was the driving force behind the WBHS Homecoming Parade—an idea she brought to life last year and continues to grow each year. From coordinating every participant to mapping out the parade route, she went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. She also led the planning for the Homecoming King and Queen selection, halftime show, and Club Representative recognitions, all while continuing to excel in the classroom. Her dedication, energy, and commitment to our students and school community are truly inspiring!

West Bladen High School FFA enjoyed a festive meeting at the end of November to celebrate the holidays. Join us for the hunter safety interest meeting today, 12/11 at 6:30 PM in the ag shop. Join us immediately after school on January 13th for our next meeting. At this meeting we will be discussing contest teams for the year and setting up practice dates

Mrs. Jones’ reindeer helpers spread cheer around the castle Tuesday morning, delivering a warm cup of joy to our staff. Thank you to our admin team for making it possible! The hot chocolates were truly appreciated on the chilly December day.

Due to extreme cold temperatures and a forecasted wind chill in the single digits Monday morning, we are modifying our schedule for the safety of our students and staff.
Monday, December 15 will now operate on a two-hour delay for both students and staff and school will dismiss at the regular time Monday afternoon.
Please note: We were originally scheduled for an early release day on Monday. That has been changed to a two-hour delay and dismissal will be at our regular time.
Tuesday through Friday of next week will continue as scheduled early release days.

Coach Strickland joins us from Pembroke, NC, bringing a wealth of experience both on and off the field. A college athlete who played across three levels for four years, he holds a degree in Sports Management and has a passion for developing student-athletes. He started his coaching career in 2020 as an instructor at a local facility and worked his way up to Varsity Head Coach at Saint Pauls High School.

Last week, our basketball team traveled to the Outer Banks to compete in the Good Guys v. Cancer tournament. 🌊🏀
Throughout the tournament, the team represented West Bladen High School with exceptional pride and determination. They competed with heart in every game and consistently upheld the highest standards of sportsmanship, both on and off the court. Four County EMC Community Engagement Specialist Hannah Mabe presented a $2,000 grant award to teacher Kim Jones. This funding, made possible by Four County EMC members, will help create a Sensory Exploration Zone, a dedicated space designed to enhance student learning, comfort, and connection.
Four County EMC is proud to support educators whose innovative projects enrich classroom instruction across a variety of disciplines including music, art, history, reading, science, technology, math, and engineering.
This year, Four County EMC awarded more than $40,000 in Bright Ideas grant funding to teachers across our service territory. To learn more, visit https://www.fourcty.org/community/bright-ideas/.
