🎉 Turkey Show Success! 🦃💙💛
Our West Bladen Animal Science students shined at today’s Poultry Showmanship event!
🌟 Congratulations to Allison Hickman on successfully completing her Poultry Showmanship class — she has worked so hard this semester and it truly showed today!
🌟 Congratulations to Skyler Williams for earning 4th place in the Senior Division of Poultry Showmanship! His dedication and consistency all semester long made this achievement well-deserved.
Our students have spent months feeding, watering, handling, and caring for their turkeys as part of their supervised agricultural experience. This hands-on project has helped them grow their skills, responsibility, and confidence.
Tomorrow, the turkeys will be processed and donated to our local food bank, allowing students to give back to the community through their hard work.
A very special thank you to Becky Spearman and the Bladen County Cooperative Extension for organizing and supporting such an exceptional educational opportunity for our students. We are grateful for your partnership! 💙💛

Our History Club took a field trip to the Battle Ship North Carolina the day after Veterans Day. They were one of the first groups to participate in a guided tour for High School students. It was a great success! The students learned about the purpose and meaning of “service” and “duty” as well as the stories of the Veterans that fought to defend the United States! Thank you so much to the volunteers and staff at the Battle Ship North Carolina for a very educational and enjoyable time!

Today's senior field trip to Main Event in Fayetteville was a huge success! 🎉

Our seniors had an absolute blast making some incredible memories. From intense air hockey and fierce racing to bowling strikes and arcade wins, the competitive spirit was alive and well. They had an opportunity to bond over competition and spend some quality down time together before taking on fall exams in a few weeks.

Today, our Health Science classes West Bladen High School and East Bladen High School participated in Stop the Bleed certification and career awareness activities.

During the Stop the Bleed training, we learned important lifesaving skills for controlling severe bleeding in emergencies. We also explored various health care career paths and learned more about the training and education needed for different medical professions. It was a great hands-on experience that helped us build confidence and awareness about real-world health care situations.

Mrs. Todd, Mrs. Hinson and Mrs. Chavis are so proud of our new professionals. Thank you so much UNC School of medicine and AHEC of NC.
