West Bladen High School cheerleaders, Superintendent Dr. Jason Atkinson, and Principal Chris Orrock, stand together with 4 cancer survivors.

Friday, October 9 at West Bladen High School was about more than football. It was an evening to honor the strength of those who have battled cancer, remember those we have lost, and celebrate the hope that continues to inspire our community.

As part of Tackle Out Cancer, four cancer survivors were recognized, Kimberly, Rosetta, Robin and Darryl. We were fortunate to have Rosetta, Robin and Darryl join us in person for the celebration. We also honored and remembered loved ones through 13 luminaries, each representing someone whose journey has touched the lives of family, friends and our community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Tackle Out Cancer a meaningful part of Friday night’s game. Together, we continue to show that our schools are about more than what happens on the field. They are places where we come together to support one another, celebrate life and remember those who have made an impact on our community.

💙Together, we tackle cancer.
