Our Leadership

Chris Orrock serves as the proud principal of West Bladen High School.  He is a graduate of NC State University and earned his master’s degree from the University of Scranton. 

Mr. Orrock has almost two decades of experience in education and over ten of those in administration.  He started teaching history and coaching before moving into administration and believes that the best interest of students should be at the center of every decision. 

Mr. Orrock is committed to providing a great educational setting while maintaining high standards and expectations for all students.  He is committed to supporting school staff, students, parents, families and community members that make West Bladen High School a great school.

When not at school Mr. Orrock can be found outdoors or on their farm with his wife and two wonderful girls.  Mr. Orrock enjoys the outdoors and taking care of their horses and cows. 

He considers it an honor and privilege to serve the Bladen County community as the principal of West Bladen High School.     

Leland Hyer serves as an Assistant Principal at West Bladen High School in Bladen County, North Carolina. With a strong background in instructional leadership, student advocacy, and school culture development, Mr. Hyer brings a student-centered approach to his work as an educational leader. He is committed to fostering equitable learning environments where all students can thrive.

Mr. Hyer is a proud graduate of North Carolina State University (Master of Education in STEM Education) and the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where he earned his Master of School Administration. Throughout his career, he has worked in various roles including as a classroom teacher and as a school administrator. Leland is actively involved in community engagement and local leadership initiatives.

Known for his collaborative leadership style, strategic thinking, and dedication to culturally responsive practices, Mr. Hyer believes in the power of education to transform lives and communities.

Ms. Lennon has served as an educator in Bladen County Schools for over 20 years in several capacities.  In 2013, she was named Bladen County's Teacher of the Year.  She is dedicated to lifelong learning and is excited to be part of the Knight family.
