At WBHS....

Special note:
Parents, please help us with attendance and tardies.  Your students needs to be at school every day and should be in class by 8:00a.m.  We also ask that you refrain from signing your child out early.  If a student leaves early, he/she is counted absent for each class missed.  Schedule your appointments for after school whenever possible.  Remember that the Bladen County Schools attendance policy only allows 7absences, whether these are excused or unexcused.  If a student is in jeopardy of failing a course because of attendance, he or she should participate in our 21st century program, which runs Monday through Thursday after school until 5:30p.m.  Students can make up time and get remediation in English, Science, or Math.  Monday, students can participate in STEM activities, which offers enrichment in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.  This program does have a bus that will take students to Bladenboro Middle, Clarkton School of Discovery, and Tar Heel Middle School each day upon completion, and it runs concurrently with our credit recovery program.  Both of these programs allow your child to get back on track if they are struggling in classes or need to recover a course that was previously failed.  Please call the school and ask for Ms. Irene Shipman if you have questions.
